Roman Hours
Roman Hours is an intimate journey through the city of Rome, guided by writer André Aciman’s words and photographer Jeannette Montgomery Barron’s images.

This dialogue is drenched in the golden radiance of Rome, a colour that had a primordial role in the design, from the clothbound cover to the text. The flyleaves with tiny golden speckles introduce the reader in this path of light, recalling the shiny pavement stones of the Eternal City. The dynamic layout emulates a wandering feeling through the city, where each street turn constitutes an unexpected encounter of old and new. The small format was inspired by travel guides and poetry books, often narrow and small, easily portable.

This publication is the first installment of the Ivorypress Cities series, which explores the vision of a place through the eyes of an artist and the words of a writer.
