Ernesto Poma Family Collection
This catalogue presents a selection of works from the Ernesto Poma family collection, which stems from the taste of its owners in Latin American art. Honouring the family’s roots in El Salvador, the book follows the history of Latin America through art, from pre-Columbian pieces to present day.

The collection includes both figurative as well as abstract artists, whose parallel genealogies are highlighted in the book. On the cloth-lined cover, a square and a circle act as symbols of this complementary duality.

The book opens with bright yellow flyleaves, contrasting with the rough cloth of the cover. The bi-lingual publication is divided into three parts: an essay by curator and art historian Gabriel Pérez-Barreiro; a conversation between collector Ernesto Poma and curator Ariel Jiménez; and a section of plates, organised around ten themes.
