	BRAVO, Joana. is a multidisciplinary creative studio. Both our design and artistic practice is based on material research, making us equally at ease by the printing press and in the photography darkroom.&#38;nbsp;
Our experience in art publishing, editorial design, and exhibition graphics has led to&#38;nbsp;worldwide collaborations with numerous artists, cultural institutions, and other creative peers. 

We are frequently involved in the coordination of publications and exhibitions; and we often engage in educational activities, giving talks and lectures with a focus on bookmaking. 

Our work has been recognised by ADG–FAD / Laus Awards, Fedrigoni Top Awards, Photoespaña Best Photography Book of the Year Award.

Ernesto Poma Family CollectionThis catalogue presents a selection of works from the Ernesto Poma family collection, which stems from the taste of its owners in Latin American art. Honouring the family’s roots in El Salvador, the book follows the history of Latin America through art, from pre-Columbian pieces to present day. 
The collection includes both figurative as well as abstract artists, whose parallel genealogies are highlighted in the book. On the cloth-lined cover, a square and a circle act as symbols of this complementary duality. 
The book opens with bright yellow flyleaves, contrasting with the rough cloth of the cover. The bi-lingual publication is divided into three parts: an essay by curator and art historian Gabriel Pérez-Barreiro; a conversation between collector Ernesto Poma and curator Ariel Jiménez; and a section of plates, organised around ten themes.

	Looking Forward. Ivorypress at Twenty-FiveLooking Forward. Ivorypress at Twenty-Five has books as its core subject. It chronicles the history of Ivorypress: publishing house, gallery and bookshop, since its foundation by Elena Ochoa Foster in 1996. 

Though singular in content and layout, the three volumes in this collection are united by a common grid and the same typeface, Rongel, inspired by the 1799 catalogue of matrices and punches owned by the Spanish Royal Printshop, Muestra de los Punzones y Matrices de la Letra que se funde en el Obrador de la Imprenta Real.

Words is an anthology of the most significant texts previously published by Ivorypress, ranging from prose to poetry, from Marina Abramović to Mario Vargas Llosa. Books presents both the conceptual approach as well as the technical making of behind sixteen artist’s books published by the imprint. The handling of countless editions permitted a close-up examination of papers, bindings, and printing techniques, a crucial step in defining a specific photographic art direction for this volume. The collection is completed with Stories, where the reader is introduced to distinctive approaches to conceiving, making, editing and exhibiting books, through interviews to artists — from Jenny Holzer to Edmund de Waal —, designers — such as Fernando Gutiérrez or Óscar Mariné — and personalities related to art publishing —including Christophe Chérix, Estrella de Diego and David Campany.

Numerous dummies were built over the course of three years to test the materiality of the object: scale, weight, paper, binding. The large number of pages determined both the choice for a light-weight paper with high opacity, and the flexible semi-hard cover binding system which allows for the books to open flat. A special edition box that can unfold into a display holds the three volumes together.

Dayanita Singh: A aventura de uma fotógrafa is the catalogue which accompanied artist Dayanita Singh’s Dancing with my Camera exhibition at the Serralves Museum in Oporto.&#38;nbsp; 

On the cover, the artist’s portrait faces the reader in the eye, sparking curiosity. In an invitation to dive into the Singh’s world, the flyleaves present a selection of works by the artist, unveiling her universe. The book’s small and maleable format is intended to be held in one hand as a paperback book. It provides a concise introduction to the artist’s practice which can be carried everywhere easily, in keeping with Singh’s spirit of dissemination of the artwork. 
The bi-lingual publication explores central themes in the artist’s work, such as the archive, the book, and the intersections of architecture and music. It is structured in three parts and includes a bespoke visual essay by Singh; a section of written essays by Stephanie Rosenthal, Kajri Jain, Ahona Palchoudhuri, and Teju Cole, contextualising the artist’s practice; and a selection of exhibition views at Serralves.

Art in the Time of Ecological DisruptionArt in the Time of Ecological Disruption is an exhibition in book form. Having the IACCCA (The International Association of Corporate Collections of Contemporary Art) members collections as a starting point, independent curator Heidi Ballet proposes a reflection on the present ecological crisis through contemporary art. 
The publication is divided into two parts differing both on a tactile and visual levels by the combination of offset paper for the text pages and a coated one for the artworks. The first part of the book includes interviews with IACCCA members and essays which address pressing issues related to the climate crisis and the challenges of the 21st century, written by Heidi Ballet, T.J. Demos (art critic and historian), and Selina Nwulu (writer and researcher). The second part illustrates the curatorial thesis in three chapters. Each section is marked by coloured dividers whose roughness evokes the touch of natural surfaces. 
The cover is silkscreened with an interpretation of Pangea. This initial supercontinent is represented through organic forms that despite being fragmented, are profoundly interconnected. The digital print-on-demand formula used in this project establishes a responsible commitment towards the planet by reducing the environmental impact of production and minimizing the waste of raw material.

	Edwin Schlossberg. Word: Nerve &#124; Tidal Gestures 
Word: Nerve &#124; Tidal Gestures is a collaboration with American artist and designer Edwin Schlossberg. In this book, the artist continues to explore the meaning of words in relation to their graphic presence on the page. The use of different printing surfaces is a reference to the artist’s earlier collaborations with ULAE (United Limited Art Editions) and Tatyana Grosman.

Word: Nerve and Tidal Gestures are two separate parts of the same artist’s book. Each sequence is printed on a specific paper of contrasting weight and texture, making a tactile distinction across each part. While Pharmaprint is almost transparent allowing for the text to appear through the pages, Splendorlux is double sided with a very shiny face and another rough one. Both works are bound together in a sequence that can be read both ways, reinforcing the playfulness of the artist’s proposal.

Berenice Abbott. Selected WritingsBerenice Abbott is the first author in Ivorypress Ars Litterae series. This collection aims at publishing rare and out-of-print texts by modern and contemporary artists in a format that is available to a wide audience.

The design for this series follows a simple layout and uses a combination of sustainable and recycled materials. The cover paper is partly made from algae, using renewable, non-tree biomass. The small-scale paperback size makes this publication a portable object with a natural and unpretentious feel, where content plays the main role.

	ACTA 7 — FISURAS
ACTA is a yearly magazine written, designed, edited and produced by the students of the MA Contemporary Art History and Visual Culture (Universidad Complutense + Universidad Autónoma de Madrid + Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía).&#38;nbsp; 

FISURAS is about what lies in between. It is an invitation to question the concept of hegemony by occupying its cracks [fisuras], wilst embracing the contradictions of a discourse engaged with the margins. This publication stems from the debates that arose around the investigation in the archive of Galería Juana Mordó, out of which would also result an exhibition at the Library and Documentation Center of the Reina Sofía Museum. 

The detachable dust-jacket doubles as a foldable poster that wraps up a year’s work: cover/manifesto for the magazine on one side, and conceptual map of the reasearch in the archive on the other. Bound by a simple elastic band, the cover and inside pages were printed on the same the same paper stock, allowing for a flexible and portable publication. 

The use of Whyte Inktrap font by ABC Dinamo for the titles matches the issue’s theme through subtle typographic details. As visual approach to the magazine’s subject, photographs of cracked landscapes complement the plurality of voices expressed in the&#38;nbsp;texts written exclusivly for the publication.

It Just Happened. Photographs by Bob Colacello 1976–1982Bob Colacello’s It Just Happened is a record of the memories of the photographer and writer’s life from the 70’s and 80’s. During this period Colacello, editor of Interview magazine at the time, developed a close relationship with Andy Warhol, joining the artist in numerous trips. The photographs in this book are a rare testimony from the very centre of the action.

The book was conceived as a personal photo album, taking inspiration from traditional bindings of the time: a 70’s muted green cover with a contrasting marbled paper in yellow and purple tones, the title stamped in golden foil. There are no two pages alike: the sequence was almost completely decided in real time with the artist, who wrote each caption individually by hand, describing the events of those days and nights. The tritone printing aims at replicating the deep blacks and great contrast of the original gelatine silver prints.

The book includes a ‘who’s who’ section at the end, which offers a short biography of everyone who was anyone in the 70’s and early 80’s in New York, featured in this album.
